-The Cheat: Steps and Procedures-
A note about editing this game save: This program may cause a fatal alert the first time you try to edit it. This is normal because of the way it is coded. Just reset and this should go away. This MAY happen more than once (usually once or twice), but this is nothing more than an annoyance! On only ONE occurrence, I had to reinstall RsrcEdit. Like I said though, only once!
| First of all, after installation, you need to start a new game (Note: I will only be using one game save slot (slot one!). In this game you can |
have several games saved, if you have more than one you should edit the correct information under that games name in the hex code). It is necessary that you play until the point that you get to input your name for the lady in whose house you awake in. (Names can be only 6-8 characters long.) Playing to this point will give you some starting values which will make it easier to find and edit. The lucky part in this game is that the values we will be editing for are close together. I will go in order of the way they are listed here under the previous section. This is also the way they are found in the save game. After you give the lady your name exit her house, but do not take one other step then exiting and save your game. At this point you are at the same place I was when I edited for these values. Okay, exit A:DS and use RsrcEdit to open the record #0 687 (the number may change, but it should still be #0) in the file "AckeronSaves."
Note: To have the cheats show up you will have to reload the game after editing!
(Editing the record found under GGAK 0 in "Saved Preferences" will edit the game so you don't have to reload it, but this is dangerous and the lines and locations of values will be off.)
Here are the cheats:
Days and Experience are found on the same line, Line 0010. Edit this line for those values. Here is how it looks before the editing:
Line 0010: 000100000000009E
If you saved it at the right point you should be on day one (the 01 in the above line) and you should have 158 (the 9E in the above line) experience.
To be on day 255 and have 32000+ experience edit Line 0010 to look like this:
Line 0010: 00FF000001FFFFFF
On the line under that, Line 0018, is the home of the values controlling money and HP/HP.
Again, if you saved it where I told you to earlier you should see the following for this line:
Line 0018: 0000005000080008
These values says that you have 80 credits (the 50 in the above line) and 8 HP of a possible 8 HP (the 08s in the above line). To have ~167772 credits (~ = approximate [This is approximate because the value goes off the screen!]) and 225 of 255 HP edit Line 0018 to look like this:
Line 0018: 00FFFFFF00FF00FF
Line 0020 contains the following values: PP/PP, Str, and End.
This is how the line looks prior to editing:
Line 0020: 0008000800010001
Again the 08s here represent the PP of PP value, and the 01's here are Str, and End, respectively. To have 255 of 255 PP, 255 Str, and 255 End edit this line to assume the following form:
Line 0020: 00FF00FF00FF00FF
At Line 0028 we find values controlling Int, Mel, Acc, and Def. When you first start editing you should see:
Line 0028: 0001000100010001
To have 255 of Int, Mel, Acc, and Def edit Line 0028 thusly:
Line 0028: 00FF00FF00FF00FF
Again one line down, Line 0030, the values for Tec, Spd, Sleepiness, and Hunger. Here is what you find there:
Line 0030: 0001000100000000
To have 255 of Tec, Spd, Sleepiness, and Hunger (Why would you want 255 Sleepiness and Hunger?) make Line 0030 look like this:
Line 0030: 00FF00FF00FF00FF
For values governing Fatigue, Pierce AR, Energy AR, and Crush AR look one line down to Line 0038:
Line 0038: 0000000000000000
There's not alot here now, but trust me they are, indeed, here. To have them show up as 255 each edit this line like this:
Line 0038: 00FF00FF00FF00FF
And the final value PSI AR is found, you guessed it, one more line down still. Now note that this line also stores your name. You should not edit your name because this will cause some undesirable results. This line looks like this prior to editing:
Line 0038: 0000????????????
The ?? here is where the values for the name you gave your character resides and should not be edited, but to have 255 PSI AR edit the line like this:
Line 0038: 00FF????????????
Notice that this value sets right against the name values, this is okay.
